beach session : sweet baby T

June 30th, 2011

Sweet baby T turned 6 months! I had a great time visiting with her family out at the beach. There is one plus side to having no hair – you can’t tell how crazy windy it is!

newborn session : baby C

June 18th, 2011

Congrats to the C family! They have done it again, another hansome little man added to the family. Little C looks a lot like his older brother. Both started out with dark hair. His older brother’s went blonde, we’ll see if little C’s follows suite. Such a kissable little fella!

Large Prints

June 18th, 2011

Here are a few large prints that came in this week. I know ordering can get overwelming in choosing which pictures to print and what sizes. This might give you a better idea of what the finished product looks like. My personal favorite is a 20×30 Canvas Wrap shown here in vertical (little miss white [...]

Here are a few large prints that came in this week. I know ordering can get overwelming in choosing which pictures to print and what sizes. This might give you a better idea of what the finished product looks like. My personal favorite is a 20×30 Canvas Wrap shown here in vertical (little miss white dress) and horizontal (lovebirds in bw).  It is the perfect size to fill up a wall and doesn’t crop into your image as much. If you can’t choose one image, then go for a collage!

What is shown here: (left to right)

16 x 20 B&W Canvas Wrap

30 x 20 Canvas Wrap

20 x 20 Storyboard Collage

10 x 20 Storyboard Collage

20 x 30 Canvas Wrap

engagement session : ashley & tyler

June 15th, 2011

These two lovebirds came from Greenville to have their picture taken. They were steam’n up my camera with their hotness. I was so pumped to use this couch for their session. $35 bucks at Goodwill, no joke. As soon as we got in the car to head to the field the dark clouds came rolling [...]

I was so pumped to use this couch for their session. $35 bucks at Goodwill, no joke. As soon as we got in the car to head to the field the dark clouds came rolling in! NOOO! We had 5 mins on the couch before the rain started. It is actually raining in the last image. I loved Ashley’s attitude – rain or shine, she was going to GET her picture taken dangit! Tyler was the perfect fiance, willing to go with our crazy ideas! Thanks guys!

I have had a growing number of clients inform me that they have emailed me through the website and the messages are not making it to me. We are working to fix the problem, but I just wanted to let anyone that hasn’t gotten a response back from me to know that I am not ignoring you! Please, please try again! If I haven’t responded in 2-3 days that means I did not get it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,

crickett

maternity : melisa

June 5th, 2011

Melisa is what I like to call a “compact carrier.” She was teeny compared to most, but she wouldn’t believe me. Doesn’t she look like a model? Oh wait, thats because she was back in the day. But this wasn’t easy for her-  she actually pinched a nerve in her back a few days ago, so even walking [...]

She rocked it out regardless!

sneak peak : the S kids

June 3rd, 2011

Check out the eyes on these kiddos. I get hipnotized staring into little miss A’s eyes. These are my favorite kind of pictures of my own kids – hanging out together on a sunny day at the park.

History Lesson : Cameron and Carroll

June 2nd, 2011

These sweet girls in their timeless white dresses kept reminding me of photographers in the late 1800′s I had studied in school. These sweet girls in their timeless white dresses kept reminding me of photographers in the late 1800′s I had studied in school. The two that came to mind were Julia Margaret Cameron and Lewis Carroll.  Cameron was known for her soft focused portraits mostly of women. She would make elaborate set ups in her gardens. Cameron was more concerned about showing the “greatness of the inner as well as the features of the outer man.” Carroll is best known for his portraits of young girls, including a neighbor girl named Alice, the same Alice that inspired Alice in Wonderland. Both of these photographers took a more casual approach dressing them up and placing their subjects in less formal settings than their contemporaries. It was at a time when photography was starting to become more than a proffession, but a pastime as well. These guys broke the rules and started making portraiture more intimate. I feel like photography has come to that same place in the last 10 years with the erruption of the digital age. We have broken a few of the traditional rules of portraiture, but gained new insights as well. I am grateful for these guys who paved the way for what I love today.
